TBF Thompson has been involved in the automotive and plant industries throughout the island of Ireland for over 50 years.
During that time we have acquired franchises for many well known names such as DAF, Hitachi, Bomag, Thwaites, Palfinger and many more. Our after sales service is the envy of our competitors and we are always investing in the future. We have state-of-the-art IT systems to increase efficiency and provide our customers with the best back-up in the business.
But regardless of new technology we will never lose sight of the strong service values that have driven our success. We will continue to invest in our greatest asset, our people, and will remain with an open ear for our customers to ensure that we respond to their needs and requirements.
Meet The Directors
Alan is a business studies graduate who joined the Company in Sept 1997. He commenced his career with TBF Thompson selling LDV vans and moved into truck sales in November 1999. Over the past 18 years Alan has been a key figure in developing the DAF truck business within N.I. Dedicated to commercial vehicle excellence and passionate about the trucks we supply, Alan is an expert in his field and is highly regarded both by DAF Trucks and customers alike.

With a keen interest in plant and machinery, Seamus commenced his career with TBF Thompson in 1995 and joined the Plant Sales division in 2007. Highly focused and customer driven Seamus has established a good rapport with customers (many of whom are repeat clients).
Selling world-class brands such as Hitachi, Bomag and Thwaites, Seamus is passionate about the products that he sells and is highly respected by manufacturers and colleagues alike. He has been instrumental in achieving a number of Dealer Excellence Awards. Since becoming a Director in May 2016, Seamus has continued to further the company’s interests demonstrating his drive and commitment both to the business and to our customers.
John Deighan
Financial Director
John qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007 with local firm Moore Stephens where he worked for 12 years. He then moved into the industry as Company Accountant with RiverRidge, progressing through the Company as Group Financial Controller and more recently, Group Compliance and Reporting Manager. During his time with RiverRidge he has overseen the growth of the Company from a £5million turnover to £50million turnover business through organic growth and a number business acquisitions.
John’s years of experience in the accounting and compliance industry have given him keen analytical skills, essential for the financial management of our five depots across Ireland.
